Where the Waters Meet

Thanks to St.F.X. students Evan Perry and Donald Jewkes for creating the film Where the Waters Meet which highlighted the community tensions associated with TPCI's plan to build an industrial scale oyster farm in Antigonish Harbour. Here is a link to the film Where the Waters Meet - YouTube.

As various parties point out in the film, getting at the truth is important.  One obstacle to the truth is the challenge of hearing all voices, such as those of commercial fishermen who keep their boats in Antigonish Harbour and will have to navigate oyster gear and buoys in all kinds of weather if this plan is approved. They are on record as opposing TPCI’s plan. 

We commend the efforts of these filmmakers in bringing to light some of the important stakes in this debate. The conversation, however, needs to continue.
