Prioritizing Plovers

The Nova Scotia government is supporting an application by Town Point Consulting for a 90+ acre oyster farm. This project will result in 27+ acres of piping plover habitat in protected waters adjacent to Dunns beach, occupied by an oyster farm lease. See map below.

The piping plover is an endangered species, and this is one of the few nesting areas in the province.
