NSDFA Withholds Info

NS Fisheries and Aquaculture (NSDFA) refuses to comply with the Privacy Commissioner’s ruling

NSDFA’s rationale for withholding information requested in a FOIPOP regarding  TPCI’s applications for oyster leases in Antigonish Harbour  is:

“Premature disclosure of the full details of the project in advance of the ARB’s [Aquaculture Review Board’s] independent review would create the risks of undue financial loss or gain to third parties that FOIPOP S.17(1)(d) guards against. “  See the full text of the NSFA letter here.

FOAH has requested the Honorable Michelle Thompson’s assistance in gaining release of the information, which the Privacy Commissioner concluded should be released, prior to the ARB hearing.
